Glaziers Hall at London Bridge is seeking a good use for left-over banqueting food. The livery hall also wants to 'adopt' a local charity.
Glaziers Hall in Montague Close hosts corporate events catering for up to 700 people.
The Thames-side venue at London Bridge is home to three City of London livery companies
“We frequently have a surplus of food which goes to waste," says managing director Janice Weiner.
"Our environmental footprint is of great concern to Glaziers Hall and we have previously tried to find a use for the left-over meals.
"We found that many organisations could not take the food unless it was in sealed packets, so we have been able to giveaway sandwiches but huge batches of hot food, for example chicken and meat dishes, often get thrown away.
"We would love to team up with an organisation that can help us find a good use for this quality food.â€
Anyone who can help is asked to call Glaziers Hall on 020 7403 3300 or?email [email protected]
Glaziers Hall would also like to 'adopt' a local charity for 2007.
“We would like to increase our role in the local community and hope that by forming a close relationship with just one charity we can really help to make a difference,†says Janice Weiner.
